azeroth survivors warlock build

Azeroth Survivors Warlock Build

TL;DR

Warlock is B-tier DoT spread this snapshot — 120 cloth HP, three damage-over-time spells, Shadow Bolt already reaching 24 yards. Who it is for: spreading dots without standing in melee, not a plate soak. (low confidence: kit numbers only.)

  • Core skill: Shadow Bolt — 15 damage, 1.4s, 1 target, 24 yards.
  • Key AOE count: 2 tagged AOE spells (Rain of Fire, Hellfire) plus Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Immolate as the DoT set.
  • Easiest death wave is not in the snapshot. First boss clock is 2:15; win clock is 15 minutes.

Core combo and skill priority

Combat auto-casts. Your job is the draft and Howl of Terror. The DoT Spread core is four names: Corruption, Curse of Agony, Immolate, Rain of Fire. Shadow Bolt is already on the bar. Offers still show three cards at a time with the card weights (upgrade owned spell 1.2, new class spell 1.0). You will not install the whole core in one level-up.

  1. 0–5 min. Start on Shadow Bolt (15 damage, 1.4s, 1 target, 24 yards). Take Corruption (4/s for 10s, 3 targets) and Curse of Agony (3.5/s for 12s, 4 targets) from the three-card offer. Howl of Terror unlocks at level 5 (12-yard fear, 4s, 20s cooldown). First boss clock is 2:15.
  2. Mid run. Add Immolate (12 damage plus 4/s for 9s, 2 targets) and Rain of Fire (8 damage, 9s, 7 yard ground, 6s) as the rest of DoT Spread. Keep Hellfire (6 damage, 1s, 7 yard aura) if Rain of Fire never shows. Do not fill the six-spell cap with Searing Pain before the DoT set is in.
  3. Late run. Slot Shadowburn (46 damage, 5s, 20 yards) or Death Coil (26 damage, 5s, Drain 0.5, 22 yards) when packs thin. Searing Pain is the 18-damage, 1.8s bolt. Win clock is 15:00.

Shadowburn (46 damage, 5s, 20 yards) looks fat next to Shadow Bolt's 15 and still loses the first-five-minutes argument because it is one body on a 5s cooldown while Corruption already hits 3 targets. Hellfire is 6 damage on a 1s aura if Rain of Fire never shows.

What to level first

Level Shadow Bolt first whenever the offer is an upgrade. It is already equipped, the weight on owned-spell upgrades is 1.2, and extra ranks buy damage and later extra targets at ranks 3, 5, and 7 per the card formulas. A new Corruption still beats a new Searing Pain on the same screen because you are buying a 3-target DoT, not a second single-target button.

After Corruption is on the bar, Curse of Agony is the widest DoT (3.5/s for 12s on 4 targets). Immolate adds a 12 hit plus 4/s for 9s on 2 targets. Rain of Fire is the ground circle (8 damage, 9s, 7 yards, 6s). Cap is 6 spells at rank 8. Warlock has 9 names in the pool — three stay off the bar. A seventh Warlock name is a dead card.

Passives share the offer. Max 6 at rank 5. Take HP or cooldown stats if the three cards are all passives — there is no Warlock-only talent tree in this snapshot. Howl of Terror still unlocks on a timer (level 5), not from a card.

Warlock's weak matchups

Warlock loses the stick-and-stun war. Shadow Bolt sits at 24 yards; Corruption sits at 20 yards; Curse of Agony sits at 20 yards — still a ranged kit, not melee. Howl of Terror is a 12 yard fear for 4s on a 20s cooldown, not a gap closer. Warrior Charge covers 25 yards and stuns: Charge punches through a Howl if Charge is up, and you eat the melee if Howl is not. Paladin matches 160 HP with Divine Shield. Those two class pages are the clean counter-kit reads: Warrior and Paladin.

Mage Blink teleports 18 yards on a 10s cooldown and lists six tagged AOE spells against Warlock's 2. Hunter Arcane Shot starts at 28 yards. Cloth HP is 120 at 7.5 yd/s — the extra 0.5 yd/s over plate is the kite, not a soak. Rain of Fire is a 9s ground tool; it is not always down.

Which map fights to skip is not in the snapshot. Do not skip the first boss on a hunch — it spawns at 2:15 on every map in this file. Later HP growth is x(1+0.75*progress).

How Warlock changed in v1

v1 is this site's snapshot label, not a numbered Aethus changelog. The Warlock numbers on this page are the extracted kit: nine spells, Shadow Bolt start, Howl of Terror at 5, 120 HP, 7.5 yd/s, two tagged AOE spells. Source commit for those rows is eb9bbe3 (2026-10-13). The Windows file is dated 2026-10-19. A skill that changed between those two dates is not listed here.

Shadow Bolt still starts, Corruption is still the 10s three-target DoT, Howl of Terror is still the F-key fear. If the live client prints a different version string, re-check the Warlock spell table after we extract the new file.

FAQ

What is the best Warlock build in Azeroth Survivors?
DoT Spread: Corruption, Curse of Agony, Immolate, Rain of Fire. Shadow Bolt starts the 24-yard bolt. Hellfire is the second tagged AOE if Rain of Fire never shows. Death Coil (26 damage, Drain 0.5) and Shadowburn (46 damage) fill later single-target slots. Howl of Terror on F from level 5.
What should Warlock level first?
Rank Shadow Bolt when the offer shows it — it is already on the bar at 15 damage, 1.4s, one target, 24 yards. Then take Corruption (4/s for 10s, three targets) and Curse of Agony (3.5/s for 12s, four targets) before extra single-target bolts. Rain of Fire is the 7-yard ground circle. Stop at six spells.
Can you play Warlock without Rain of Fire?
Yes. Warlock still has Hellfire as a second tagged AOE (6 damage, 1s, 7 yard aura), plus Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Immolate, with Shadow Bolt as the start. Rain of Fire is the ground circle in DoT Spread, not a requirement to queue Warlock. Howl of Terror on F covers a 12-yard fear.
Does Warlock fall off after the first boss (2:15)?
Kit math does not show a hard cliff at the first boss. Enemy HP in the snapshot grows x(1+0.75*progress) and damage x(1+0.9*progress). Warlock still has three damage-over-time spells and two tagged AOE tools. Whether dots outscale later packs on 120 HP is not in a run log. (low confidence.)
