About this Azeroth Survivors guide
This site is an unofficial English fan guide for Azeroth Survivors, the free browser roguelike by Aethus. It is not a game host, not a mirror, and not an official Blizzard or Aethus product. The Play button leaves this domain and opens wow.aethus.pl. We write the guide so you can plan a class, a spell package, and a map before you press Enter World.
Data from the game's open-source build, updated Oct 13, 2026. The numbers, names, and clocks on every page come from the public azeroth-survivors-re repository — the MIT / Apache-2.0 rebuild of the game's data files — at commit eb9bbe3 (eb9bbe310928a43d7c7182bb0600efc5a93aae71) on Oct 13, 2026. When a field is missing, we leave it unmarked rather than guess. That is the whole sourcing rule.
Where the numbers come from
Class hit points, move speed, pickup range, crit, starting spells, movement abilities, and rank-1 spell rows are copied from classes.json. Zone monster levels, leash distances, regulars, bosses, and spawn clocks come from zones.json. Upgrade card rarities, per-rank lines, and the fallback heal come from cards.json. Keybinds and zoom extents come from controls.json. The ten in-run passives come from talents.json. Those files live under content/data and are the only source of combat numbers on this site.
We do not pull live values from wow.aethus.pl. The browser original can ship a different talent XP loop, a different menu gate, or a different Spell.dbc name than the extracted rebuild. When those two worlds might diverge, the page says so in plain muted text ("untested") instead of inventing a number. If you need the raw files, the repo is OutThisLife/azeroth-survivors-re.
Screenshots on the home, zone, and how-to-play pages are taken from that same repository. Game art is © Blizzard Entertainment. We use those stills for commentary and identification — race / class / zone select, combat, the level-up draft, and the results screen — and we do not offer them as a downloadable client.
Extracted, derived, and untested
Extracted
A value that appears in the source file. HP 160 on Warrior, a 135s boss clock, Blizzard's rank-1 damage — those are extracted.
Derived
A count or band computed from extracted rows. Role tags, AOE counts, zone difficulty chips from minimum monster level, and named build groups are derived.
Untested
A field the files do not contain: beginner ratings, build difficulty, S/A/B/C placements, "best map for this class". We do not fill those in.
"Derived" is the word that used to live in a gray footer paragraph next to a git commit. It still matters. A derived role such as "AOE / ranged" is a string check on spell kinds, not a label the game prints on the character sheet. A derived zone difficulty chip (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Endgame) is a band on the map's lowest regular level, not a playtest rank. A derived build such as Frost Control is a named bundle of real Mage spells; the name is ours, the spell rows are not.
When a whole table column is unknown — build difficulty, class beginner ratings, tier-list placements — the cells show a muted dash and a single legend sits above the table. We do not stamp a yellow badge on every row. In sentences, unverified claims stay plain muted text. That is a readability choice, not a change to the underlying data: the JSON still holds TODO / empty values, and we still refuse to invent S/A/B/C letters.
Monster and boss HP outside The Barrens were computed with the same ladder() the game source uses. Those rows stay in the zone tables. They are not live packet captures. Time scaling during a run (HP and damage growth on the shared clock) stacks on top of those bases. If a zone file includes a stats note, the zone page repeats it.
Update policy
We update the guide when the extracted rebuild moves. The current snapshot is dated Oct 13, 2026. A refresh means: re-copy the JSON, keep every TODO empty, bump the source date, and rewrite only the sentences that name that date. We do not silently redraw a tier list because a patch note felt like one.
If the browser original adds a talent tree, a permanent unlock, or a new class that is not in the rebuild, those features stay untested here until the public files include them. That keeps the guide honest when Aethus ships a change we have not extracted yet. The version chip on the tier list is the same date. Change that date when the files change — not when someone has a strong opinion about Mage.
Build pages group real class spells. If a future extract drops a spell id that a build still lists, the build page should lose that card rather than keep a ghost name. Difficulty and strength on those pages stay empty until a dated playtest write-up exists, with the commit, the map, and the sample size named in public. Until then the legend reads "Difficulty pending playtests".
We will not auto-link player accounts, scrape wow.aethus.pl, or host a proxy that claims to "unblock" a school filter. The unblocked page explains that the official host is the only play link. If that host is blocked on your network, this guide cannot open it for you.
What we will not invent
No hidden DPS spreadsheet. No "best first pick" that is not in the offer table. No race-specific combat numbers beyond the 1.12 character-create reference used because the menu reads trainer display IDs at runtime. No claim that a given school filter allows or blocks wow.aethus.pl. No mobile-control guarantee — the extracted key table assumes a keyboard and a mouse.
Search titles and descriptions stay factual: class counts, zone counts, the 15-minute win, the free-and-no-signup line. They do not promise a tested ranking. Canonical URLs point at this site. Public pages are prerendered so a crawler sees the same HTML a reader sees. Content pages keep readable prose — intros, how-to-read notes, tips, and FAQ — around the cards and tables, at a comfortable line length.
If a sentence on this site ever sounds like a review, treat it as a bug. The fix is to point back at an extracted field or to mark the claim untested. Questions about the guide itself go to the contact page. Game bugs belong with the developer, not with this unofficial index.
