Azeroth Survivors Warrior Build
TL;DR
Warrior is S-tier for first-play survivability this snapshot — plate 160 HP (highest, tied Paladin), Cleave already hitting 3 targets, Charge at level 5. Who it is for: new runs and pack soaking, not a kiting class. (low confidence: kit numbers only.)
- Core skill: Cleave — 14 damage, 1.1s, 3 targets, 5.5 yards.
- Key AOE count: 4 tagged AOE spells (Whirlwind, Thunder Clap, Sweeping Strikes, Demoralizing Shout) plus Cleave as the multi-target start.
- Easiest death wave is not in the snapshot. First boss clock is 2:15; win clock is 15 minutes.

Core combo and skill priority
Combat auto-casts. Your job is the draft and Charge. The Whirlwind Melee core is four names: Cleave, Whirlwind, Thunder Clap, Sweeping Strikes. Offers still show three cards at a time with the card weights (upgrade owned spell 1.2, new class spell 1.0). You will not install the whole core in one level-up.
- 0–5 min. Start on Cleave (14 damage, 1.1s, 3 targets, 5.5 yards). Take Whirlwind and Thunder Clap from the three-card offer. Charge unlocks at level 5 (25 yards, 8s cooldown, stun). First boss clock is 2:15.
- Mid run. Add Sweeping Strikes (6 damage, 0.6s, 5.5 yard aura) as the fourth AOE. Keep Demoralizing Shout (Weaken 0.5 for 5s, 11 yard area) if the offer is thin. Do not fill the six-spell cap with Heroic Strike before the AOE set is in.
- Late run. Slot Mortal Strike (48 damage, 3s, 6 yards) and Execute (40 damage, 2s, Execute 0.3, two targets) when packs thin. Retaliation is the 8s defensive on an 18s cooldown. Win clock is 15:00.
Heroic Strike (28 damage, 1.6s, one target) looks fat next to Cleave's 14 and still loses the first-five-minutes argument because it hits one body. Mortal Strike is the real single-target upgrade at 48 damage. Execute is 40 damage on a 2s cooldown with Execute(0.3) — a finisher, not a start.
What to level first
Level Cleave first whenever the offer is an upgrade. It is already equipped, the weight on owned-spell upgrades is 1.2, and extra Cleave ranks buy damage and later extra targets at ranks 3, 5, and 7 per the card formulas. A new Whirlwind or Thunder Clap still beats a new Heroic Strike on the same screen because you are buying coverage, not a second single-target button.
After the two new AOE names are on the bar, Sweeping Strikes is the cheapest fourth circle (0.6s). Then stop adding spells until you know which late slot you want: Mortal Strike for raw hit, Execute for the execute flag, or Retaliation (14 damage, 8s duration, 18s cooldown) as the soak tool. Cap is 6 spells at rank 8. A seventh Warrior name is a dead card.
Passives share the offer. Max 6 at rank 5. Take HP or cooldown stats if the three cards are all passives — there is no Warrior-only talent tree in this snapshot. Charge still unlocks on a timer (level 5), not from a card.
Warrior's weak matchups
Warrior loses the range war. Cleave and Heroic Strike sit at 5.5 yards. Execute reaches 8. Whirlwind, Thunder Clap, Sweeping Strikes, and Demoralizing Shout reach 20, but you still have to walk the body into 5.5 yards for the starting spell. Mage Blink teleports 18 yards on a 10s cooldown. Hunter Volley and Explosive Trap are ranged ground tools on a 135 HP kit that starts with Arcane Shot. Those two class pages are the clean counter-kit reads: Mage and Hunter.
Warlock Howl of Terror is a 12-yard, 4s fear on F. Charge covers 25 yards and stuns — you punch through a Howl if Charge is up, and you eat the fear if it is not. Paladin matches 160 HP but has Divine Shield; Rogue Sprint is 80% haste with no stun.
Which map fights to skip is not in the snapshot. Do not skip the first boss on a hunch — it spawns at 2:15 on every map in this file. Later HP growth is x(1+0.75*progress).
How Warrior changed in v1
v1 is this site's snapshot label, not a numbered Aethus changelog. The Warrior numbers on this page are the extracted kit: nine spells, Cleave start, Charge at 5, 160 HP, 7.0 yd/s, four tagged AOE spells. Source commit for those rows is eb9bbe3 (2026-10-13). The Windows file is dated 2026-10-19. A skill that changed between those two dates is not listed here.
Cleave still starts, Mortal Strike is still the 48-damage hit, Charge is still the F-key stun. If the live client prints a different version string, re-check the Warrior spell table after we extract the new file.
